Description : XtreemOS is an Integrated Project supported by the European Commission’s IST program, which aims to conceive, build and promote an open source grid operating system based on Linux to underpin future computing grids.

This talk will expose the free software operating system XtreemOS state-of-the-art. It will also provide a demonstration of the OS.

* Qualification : She did a M.S in Parallel and Distributed Computer Systems (Sep 2006 to Dec 2008) from Vrije Universitiet, Amsterdam, The Netherlands. She received a Bachelor of Engineer degree in Information Technology from University of Pune, India (June 1999 to June 2003).

* Project Exposure : Surbhi Chitre is currently working on the XtreemOS project at INRIA Rennes, Bretagne Atlantique, as an R&D engineer ; She is working on container based process checkpointing in XtreemOS. She has worked on the implementation of afterburning a Linux image for IA64 platform, NFS Server version 2 for Minix 3, online file system shrink tool, file system debugging tool, reducing the cost of file I/O through library calls.
