FusionForge. Where from, where to, who and why.

A brief genealogy of some of the more well-known software forges and their various forks, and a presentation of the FusionForge project on its own (history, current directions, and participants) and within its ecosystem ("concurrent" forges and the Coclico project).

Roland Mas started by installing Sourceforge for himself and his workmate. Then one thing led to another, and he became a Debian developer responsible for packaging Sourceforge (and later its descendants), then a contributor to GForge, then a founding member of the FusionForge project. After a while, Roland turned his free software activities to a full-time freelance job, hoping to get some free time back on evenings and weekends.
