The Debian Pure Blends effort has created a lot of useful tools which enable to easily access scientific software inside Debian with one mouse click. New categories were defined which are assembling Free Software of different sciences like mathematics, physics, chemistry but also applied sciences like engineering and even linguistics.
The talk will explain the ideas behind Debian Science and the plans for the future.
Andreas Tille is a debian maintener since 1998 and has been deeply commited into Debian med, a special version of Debian for medical practice and research.
